Memorial Community Hospital is committed to taking an active leadership role in the community by addressing wellness issues and services that have a substantial impact on the health of our community.

MCH offers programs and screenings that promote early detection. Our health education programs are designed to enhance the health of our community and reach people where they live and work. We believe that making an investment in prevention, health education and wellness today will benefit our community members well into the future.

MCH CHILDBIRTH CLASSES

Childbirth Education
Sat, Aug. 16th 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Conference Room AB

The childbirth classes, taught by a certified childbirth instructor, provide information on stages of labor, delivery and post delivery. Class content covers various pain options available, including natural birthing techniques, analgesic medications, and epidurals. The final class hours focus on caring for your newborn child. This month’s class is offered in a single session and should be taken if you are expecting in September, October or November. For registration or more information

Breastfeeding Class
Thurs, Aug. 7th 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Conference Room AB

The breastfeeding class, taught by a certified lactation consultant, discusses the many facets of breastfeeding and is designed to give expectant parents a successful start in nursing. Fathers-to-be/coaches are encouraged to attend. **This class comes free with any childbirth class registration.

PROGRAMS/SUPPORT GROUPS

Senior Strength Training
Every Mon, Wed. and Fri. 9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
First Lutheran Church - Fellowship Hall - (Free)

Studies show that strength training in seniors improves balance, prevents falls and may also increase bone density. This FREE class for men and women is led by MCH Rehabilitation Services staff and is designed for maximum benefit. Come join the fun! No registration is required.

Lunch & Learn
Cataract Concerns
Fri, Aug. 29th 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
First Lutheran Church - Fellowship Hall (Free)

August is Cataract Awareness Month, and with that mind MCH & Health System’s Specialty Clinic physician Dr. Gregory Haskins will be hosting a lecture regarding the symptoms and treatment of Cataracts. For more information or to register for this free event please call 426-1464.
