Snow on the ground won’t stop progress at Memorial Community Hospital’s $24.5 million addition and renovation project.  The top floor shown above will house private inpatient rooms; the main floor is designated for diagnostic and emergency departments and the basement will house support services and conference rooms. According to Bob Bloechle from Hawkins Construction, the current structural phase construction work is about a four to six weeks behind the company’s original goal, due to rain this fall and a colder winter. The desired date for owner occupancy of the new addition is the Fall of 2008. Remodeling work to the existing facility, including the major surgery remodel, will not occur until after departments move into the new addition.
